Thanksgiving Prayers

Thank you God for everything
I've experienced here on earth
Thank you for protecting me
From the moment of my birth
Thank you for the little things
That often come my way
The unexpected little joys
That brighten up my day
And thank you for the beauty
Around me everywhere
The gentle rain and glistening dew
The sunshine and the air
The joyous gift of feeling
The souls soft whispering voice
That speaks to me from deep within
And makes my heart rejoice
Oh God
No words are great enough
To thank you for just living.

I thank you God / Goddess
I thank you Jesus
I thank the Higher Powers
I thank the Ascended Masters
I thank you Saint Francis
I thank you Saint Germaine
I thank all the Angels and Saints
I thank all those who guide me through my life
And I send my loving gratitude
To each and every living creature

Thanksgiving Prayer : Lord, so often times, as any other day;When we sit down to our meal and pray. We hurry along and make fast the blessing Thanks, amen. Now please pass the dressing. We're slaves to the olfactory overload; We must rush our prayer before the food gets cold. But Lord, I'd like to take a few minute more; To really give thanks to what I'm thankful for. For my family, my health, a nice soft bed; My friends, my freedom, a roof over my head. I'm thankful right now to be surrounded by those; Whose lives touch me more than they'll ever possibly know. Thankful Lord, that You've blessed me beyond measure; Thankful that in my heart lives life's greatest treasure. That You, dear Jesus, reside in that place; And I'm ever so grateful for Your unending grace. So please, Heavenly Father, bless this food You've provided. And bless each and every person invited. Amen! --Scott Wesemann
Thanksgiving: For each new morning with its light, For rest and shelter of the night, For health and food, For love and friends, For everything Thy goodness sends. --Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)

We Gather Together
We gather together to ask the Lord's blessing;
He chastens and hastens his will to make known;
The wicked oppressing now cease from distressing,
Sing praises to his name: He forgets not his own.

Beside us to guide us, our God with us joining,
Ordaining, maintaining his kingdom divine;
So from the beginning the fight we were winning;
Thou, Lord, wast at our side, All glory be thine!

We all do extol thee, thou leader triumphant,
And pray that thou still our defender wilt be.
Let thy congregation escape tribulation;
Thy name be ever praised! O Lord, make us free!
--Traditional Thanksgiving Hymn
(A translation by Theodore Baker: 1851-1934)

  1. When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed,
    When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
    Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
    And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
    • Refrain:
      Count your blessings, name them one by one,
      Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
      Count your blessings, name them one by one,
      And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.
  2. Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
    Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
    Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
    And you will keep singing as the days go by.
  3. When you look at others with their lands and gold,
    Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
    Count your many blessings—money cannot buy
    Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
  4. So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
    Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
    Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
    Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
