August Full Moon :Lammas: Bastet : Red String

Lammas or loaf mass

The correct time to celebrate this is when:

1. Sun has entered Leo near the marker star Regulus in the 10th lunar mansion. Regulus is about leading, motivating and acting royal (classy). Leo is about love, marriage, the heart chakra and Archangel Raphael. It is therefore considered a good time for marriage. Lammas or Lughnasadh is a time to bless bread and fruit and in so doing we bless our future prosperity. This is also a good time to honor and display arts, crafts and cats.

2. Full Moon in Aquarius. Archangel Gabriel. Now is a good time to break bad habits or patterns that we have formed. Time to change and set new goals.

The Lion / Cat Goddess is all about defeating the evil and bad habits in your life and replacing them with better ones.

Tuesday, 20 August 2013 is the correct date for celebrating it this year. For simplicity it is always celebrated on the 1st of August, but for those who want to get it right the date is 20 August - make your wish list on a red paper.

Lammas is a good time to learn the art of cooking. Celebrate abundance, reaping the harvest and generosity. Lammas is a time to give thanks for all the blessings you have already received. Place cookies; fruit and red and yellow flowers in your kitchen. Burn three candles (red. yellow and gold) on your stove for Brigid the Fire Goddess who overseas cooking. Make a wish list and ask the universe to make it manifest in a way that you have no doubt that it comes from a higher power.

Colors: Red, Gold, Yellow, Tan and Brown.

Why golden or fiery locks - for strength, courage, royalty and wealth.

Women are often described as being catty. Is it any wonder then that woman's day is celebrated in August.

How to honor the Lion / Cat Goddess: fast, pray, meditate, self-care, dancing and give your cat a special treat.

In Egypt she is Bastet / Sekhmet.

In India she is Durga

As a superstar she is Cat-woman.

At Home - Cat

Durga arrived at my house on 10 August 2012 to help me cut away ignorance / darkness and replace it with light / knowledge; to recognize my enemies and defeat my demons.

Black cats: protect you and break evil.
White cats: soldiers and security guards.
Grey: recognize the aliens around you, warning you against evil.
Ginger: bringer of luck.

Red String Time (Durga / Banda-Raksha / Rachelle / Kaballah): Cut a red string that will be long enough to fit around your wrist. Tie 7 knots in the string. For every knot you make a wish or say a prayer. Keep the red string on as long as possible. Try to keep it on until next year the same time. If it breaks off before the time tie it around a tree.

Navaratri, the 9 nights of dancing of the Goddess Durga will be from 5 to 13 October when the Sun is in Virgo and then the moon enters Virgo, the Celestial Virgin.

Southern Hemisphere Lammas:
*Some writers suggest that all the celebrations should be turned around for the Southern Hemisphere and that during Lammas we should celebrate Imbolc. Religious / Spiritual celebrations are universal and cannot be turned around for the simple fact that they are based on the movement of the planets and not on the seasons.
*To switch it on the basis of seasons is flawed.  I have studied esoteric subjects since I can remember and have lived in both the Northern and the Southern Hemisphere. The Southern Hemisphere does not encounter the same severe winters as the Northern Hemisphere. I live in Johannesburg and sit and tan outside next to my pool in winter. When I lived in England in the winter, I was dressed like a padded Eskimo when I went outside and still froze half to death.
*Most plants continue to grow in our winter in the Southern Hemisphere.
*Animals don't need to hibernate in the Southern Hemisphere winter (only reptiles).
*The reason the ancients said that Fire (Heat) is South are numerous:
-The Southern Hemisphere countries are hotter and closer to the equator than the
          countries in the Northern Hemisphere.
-The Red Phoenix rising from the ashes of the South (Feng Shui): from June to December
the Sun (Son of God) travels south where he dies on the Southern Cross on the
22nd December to rise three days later. For this very reason we all celebrate Christ-mass
on 25 December. To suggest that the Southern Hemisphere should celebrate Christmas
in June would be faulty as there is no cross in the Northern Hemisphere sky where the sun
stays on the same lateral for 3days without moving.

*These festivals are based on the movement of the planets.
A study or research in Astro-theology clearly reveals this.

Pray to the moon when she is round,
Luck with you will then abound
What you seek for shall be found
On the sea or solid ground.
