Image of Oshun by by Claudia Krindges.
This New Moon is ruled by Oshun, African goddess of wisdom, wealth, motherhood, nurturing, magic, blessings, divination and devotion. She is passionate and independent. She encourages unconditional love and reverence of a higher power. The Peacock is sacred to her . She loves mirrors (for self-reflection). Her color is yellow and her number is 8.
Offer yellow candles, sweets, honey and Sandalwood to her during this New Moon for blessings of wisdom and abundance.
This is the New Moon just before Lammas / Varalakshmi / Cornucopia (horn of plenty).
The new moon is in Cancer. The fixed stars are Asellus Australis and Asellus Borealis, also known as the two donkeys that flanked the manger of the baby Jesus.
In Vedic Astrology this is known as the 'Nurturing Stars'. The celestial mansion is symbolized by a prosperous arrow and the nurturing udders of a cow (opposite Capricorn, the goat / cow).
It is known as the 'Auspicious Flower'. The constellation is ruled by the Lord of Prayer and Devotion; and by Saturn, ruler of time, order, discipline and lessons. This is a time for devotion to the goddess Andal (Aadi), an incarnation of Lakshmi. Goddess Shakti Devi comes to earth to bless all devotees with happiness and prosperity.
When the new moon falls here, prayer and devotion will take us through the purifying fire in order for Jupiter to bring us luck, wisdom and wealth. Brihaspati (Lord of Prayers) is the custodian of Jupiter, bringer of luck. When the Sun and Moon lie together, we have a new moon. When the Sun passes through here it indicates a turning point and new doors opening. This is the gateway through which souls descend into human bodies. A time to gain profits; amass wealth and achieve success.
Saint John the Baptist is the patron saint of wealth as everyone touched by him flourished.
Saint Sophia is the patron saint of wisdom. Like Oshun she holds long life in her right hand and riches and honor in her left hand.

This is the New Moon of prayer and devotion in order to receiving favors, blessings and abundance from the universe. A time for giving and receiving. Helping and being helped. Nurturing yourself and others. Being nurtured and cared for or doing it for others.
Every celestial mansion vibrates its own energy. We can use this energy to our advantage and / or to warn us against taking certain actions.
The Moon is visiting the Celestial Mansion of the cows udders, that provides nourishing milk. This is the entrance to the land of milk and honey.
The luckiest placement of the moon - good for personal growth and prosperity. A good day for trading with gold.
Problems that may present itself has to do with leaking, from the eyes (crying), or leaking pipes. Avoid moodiness and being or dealing with people who are over-emotional.
I aim to live magically, and invite you to join me on my journey as I explore and explain these energies so that we can move with the rhythm of nature for our ultimate benefit and gain. In my quest I track the movement and energy of the moon.
The Mansion of the Holy Mother who nurtures us.
Marker Star: Beehive Cluster / Crab / Cow udders:
3°20 to 16°40 Cancer (sidereal) / 27°20' Cancer - 10°40' Leo (tropical)
Ruled by: Saturn - teaches the law of non-attachment.
Venus - nourishment, growth, divine nectar.
Brihaspati (Jupiter, teacher and benevolent bestower of luck).
Symbols: Crab, cradle, crystal, flower, bee, cow's udders (nurturing).
Cow udders symbolize the nurturing mother. The udders of the Cow lie across from the Capricorn Cow. For this reason we don't eat the cow as you don't want to eat the Holy Mother (Mary / Luxmi).
1. Prosperity, abundance, wealth and flourishing are strongly highlighted by this moon. Under this moon's influence you can amass sudden wealth.
2. Beehive cluster - busy bees going about their business.
3. Visions, dreams and intuition are increased during this moon.
4. Reflecting - this moon serves to reflect our own and others' emotions back to us. Reflect on your past and recognize how you have grown.
5. Nurturing is a strong feature of this moon mansion. This moon mansion symbolizes the cradle. It's about those who want to nurture others physically and emotionally, like a mother nurtures her child.
6. Devotion to the Divine through prayer, meditation, fasting and morality.
6. Guru, teacher, becoming enlightened (Buddha).
Saturn rules this moon mansion to teach us to mother not smother. Don't love or give so much of yourself that it leaves you feeling empty. Love unconditionally - without expecting anything in return - otherwise you will end up getting hurt! Follow the Buddhist principle of non-attachment and let go and go with the flow. 'Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream'.
The Tarot Card for this section of the Zodiac is the 5 of Wands: Magic happens through effort and discipline, within the framework of careful planning.
